30 Years - Le Caudan Waterfront

30 Years

About the 30th Anniversary

Le Caudan Waterfront turns 30 on 24 November 2026.

It began on the old docks of Port-Louis, a bold construction project that transformed the capital’s waterfront into a destination. The land itself has history stretching back to 1726, when a French settler named Jean Dominique Michel de Caudan worked saltpans on this very peninsula.

Three decades later, Caudan is more than a shopping centre. It is where Port-Louis comes to celebrate, to gather, to mark the moments that matter. A place that has grown with its city and with everyone who has made it theirs.

We are marking 30 years with pride. And already looking ahead. The next chapter starts now.

Four Pillars

Honouring the memory

Thirty years of stories, faces and moments that have made Le Caudan Waterfront what it is. We honour the memory of this place and the people who have shaped it.

Celebration of the creativity

Culture and the arts have always been at the heart of Caudan’s identity. The 30th birthday celebrates the creativity that has flourished here and opens new spaces for artists to be seen.

Shared moments

Le Caudan Waterfront is a place where Mauritians from every background come together. This pillar celebrates the shared moments: the concerts, the festivals, the meals, the encounters that make this waterfront a place to belong.

Youth engagement

The next 30 years belong to those who are growing up with Caudan. This pillar looks forward, inviting young Mauritians to discover, create and make this place their own
